Blackened Seasoning

Smoky, savory Blackened Seasoning is easy to make at home. Use this Cajun mix for any recipe that calls for Blackening, Cajun, or Creole seasoning!

Equipment

  • Small Air Tight Container

INGREDIENTS 

  • 2 Tbsp. Smoked Paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 ⅔ Tbsp. Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp. Dried Thyme
  • 1 tsp. Oregano
  • ½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add all of the spices to an airtight container. Seal and shake. Store at room temperature.

Notes

You can use this recipe for any that calls for Blackening, Cajun, or Creole spice mixes.
If you’re seasoning without a recipe, use:
    • 2 ½ tsp. per chicken breast for Blackened Chicken
    • 1 generous Tbsp. for each 1 lb of shrimp for Blackened Shrimp
    • 1 ½ tsp. per filet for Blackened Fish
