Patty Melt

A sure fire hit for lunch. Simple ingredients and a perfect recipe for a novice cook.

Equipment

  • Heavy Skillet
  • Rimmed Baking Sheet

INGREDIENTS… 

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • ½ Med. Onion - Sliced very Thin
  • 8 slices thick Bread
  • 8 slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter
  • Salt and Black Pepper - to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Sauté Onions in the skillet until translucent
  • Divide the Beef into 8 Patties and season with Salt and Pepper.
  • Cook Patties in a hot skillet for1 – 2 minutes per side until browned and cooked through smashing each flat with a spatula.-
  • Place a slice of Cheddar on each patty and let it melt.
  • Butter one side of each Bread slice.
  • Assemble onto a rimmed baking sheet using 2 patties per sandwich, adding sautéd onions on the Patties.
  • Toast in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, crispy, and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Serve hot.
