Apple Fritters
Nothing compares to warm Apple Fritters to start your morning. Light, fluffy and Baked, not Fried.Difficulty: Medium
Equipment
- Parchment lined Baking Sheet
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Small Mixing Bowl
- Whisk
- Large Serving Spoon
INGREDIENTS…
Dry Ingredient
- 2 cups AP Flour
- ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
- ½ tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
Wet Ingredientw
- ⅔ cup Milk
- ¼ cup Unsalted Butter - melted
- 2 Lg. Eggs
- 2 cups Apples
Glaze
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2-3 Tbsp. Milk
- ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Peel, core and dice the Apples.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the AP Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Salt, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine the Milk, melted Butter, and Eggs. Beat well until fully combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the Apples evenly into the batter.
- Drop large spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small fritters. Leave space to allow for spreading.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and cooked through.
- Whisk the Powdered Sugar, Milk, and Vanilla Extract in a small bowl together for the Glaze.
- When the fritters are done baking, remove them to a wire rack to cool.
- Dip each fritter into the glaze, ensuring each is fully coated, and place them back on the baking sheet to allow the glaze to set.
Notes
The type of Apple is up to you . Select a sweet variety that will remain firm when baked such as Red Delicious or Fuji.
