Sweet Bread With Raisins

A yeast-based sweet bread with raisins. Light and fluffy, it make a great breakfast staple or snack!

Equipment

  • 2 Bread Pans
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Small Sauce Pan

INGREDIENTS… 

  • 5 cups AP Flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3 Tbsp. Dry Instant Yeast
  • 8 oz. Butter - (1 stick)
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 2 cups Raisins
  • Oil - (to pre-coat pans)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 100° to 125°F (Just warm).
  • Melt Butter in Warm Milk.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and knead the dough.
  • Oil 2 bread pans.
  • Divide dough in half and place into the pans. Put pans into the oven and cover with a kitchen towel.
  • After 1 hour, remove the cloth and increase the temperature to 400°F.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from pans and allow to cool on a wire rack.
