Hamburger and Pasta

Equipment

  • Large Skillet with Deep Sides and Lid

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. Butter
  • ½ Onion - finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ½ tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Italian Herbs
  • ½ tsp. Red Pepper Flakes - (optional)
  • 3 ½ cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 cups Penne Pasta
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • ¼ cup Mozzarella Cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a large skillet, crumble and brown Beef over medium high heat (about 10 minutes).
  • Add the Onions to the pan and sauté until the Onions are translucent (2 minutes).
  • Add a Tbsp. of Butter and the minced Garlic and cook until Garlic is fragrant (30 seconds).
  • Season with Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning, and optional Pepper Flakes. Mix well to combine.
  • Add Chicken Broth and bring to a boil.
  • Add raw Pasta and simmer for about 10 minutes until Pasta is al Denté.
  • Add Heavy Cream and simmer for an additional minute.
  • Turn off heat. Sprinkle Cheese over mixture. Cover and let the Cheese melt for another minute.
  • Uncover. Add chopped Chives on top as a garnish and Serve.
