INGREDIENTS
Salisbury Steaks
1½lbGround Beef - 80/20
½cupBreadcrumbs
1Lg.Egg
1Tbsp. Worcestershire Cauce
1tsp.Onion Powder
1tsp.Garlic Powder
Salt & Black Pepper - to taste
1Tbsp.EVOO
Rich Brown Gravy
2Tbsp.Butter or pan drippings
1Lg.Onion - thinly sliced
2Tbsp.AP Flour
2cupsBeef Broth
Black Pepper - to taste
Salt - to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine Ground Beef, Breadcrumbs, Egg, Worcestershire Sauce, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper. Mix gently and form 4 oval patties.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add Butter if needed. Add Onions and cook until soft and lightly caramelized.
Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in Beef Broth, scraping up browned bits. Simmer low & slow.
Return Patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer 15–20 minutes until Steaks are tender and gravy thick and glossy.
Serve hot, spooning Gravy over the Steaks.
Notes
Tips & Substitutions Add sliced Mushrooms for a classic variation. Serve with Mashed Potatoes or over Rice or Egg NoodlesBe generous with Gravy. Possibly make two batches.
