INGREDIENTS
1Cucumber
1MediumOnion - thinly sliced
½CloveGarlic - minced
2Tbsp.Sugar
1tsp.Salt
Pepper - to taste
Vinegar - to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel the cucumber and onion and slice them very thinly. Place in a salad bowl.
Add salt and garlic. Then sugar and vinegar, to taste. To lessen the taste of vinegar, add water to vinegar. The result should be enough liquid to just cover the cuke slices.
Top with black pepper and refridgerate for few minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
Notes
This is the true Central Slovakian version. Some add a Tablespoon of Sour Cream for added richness and white color in the liquid.
