5cupsWater
¼cupBaking Soda
1Lg. Egg - room temp, beaten
1tsp.Kosher Salt
Cheese Sauce - for dipping
INSTRUCTIONS
Remove pizza dough from the package and place on a cutting board. Using a rolling pin, roll into a rectangle, ¼" thick. Cut in half lengthwise using a pizza cutter. Then, cross-cut each rectangle into 12, 1" wide strips - 24 strips in total.
Place a sausage on each strip. Tightly roll the dough around each, letting the link stick out a bit on each end.
In a medium pot, bring the water to a light boil. Add the baking soda and stir until dissolved.
Working in batches of 3-4, add the rolls and boil for 20-30 seconds. Use a slotted spoon to remove.
OVEN BAKE:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Place boiled rolls on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Use a pastry brush to brush the outside of each with the beaten egg. Sprinkle each evenly with salt.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
AIR FRYER:
Perheat Air Fryer to 375°F.
Remove boiled rolls, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with salt.
Place boiled rolls into a parchment-lined fryer basket.
Bake for 4-6 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. Work in batches if necessary.
Serve with cheese sauce for dipping.
Notes
For extra zing, lay a very narrow strip of Pepper Jack Cheese down the center of each dough strip just before rolling, making sure it is completely sealed inside the roll before boiling.
